Media Release: Guy Sebastian proved today why he is an A-list performer, wowing the Tasmanian public at a live intimate acoustic performance at Tahune AirWalk. In front of around 700 fans Sebastian played a range of past and present hits, some special treats and covers and of course the chart topping “Like it Like That” closed the set and stole the audience’s hearts. Sebastian also took time throughout the day to meet with fans, pose for hundreds of pictures and sign autographs for people of all ages. Guy was well supported by the popular local performer Dewayne Everett-Smith, also a competitor on the Australian Idol program. Event Manager Ben Harrison of BA Harrison Management was happy with how the event turned out. "The event succeeded in achieving its goal and that was to launch Tahune AirWalk as a truly unique special events venue." "The intimate, unique setting can't be matched and this is one of many events that the hard working team at Tahune are planning to have here and is a credit to the organisational skills of site manager Tracey Tomkinson and her staff." said Mr Harrison. While a lot of the credit for the event being such a success needs to lie with Guy Sebastian, Mr.Harrison said "the role that the Hobart Media Centre played as the Media Partner should not be overlooked". "The strategy to co-ordinate with Hobart Media Centre to use the combined powers of Southern Cross, Heart 107.3 and SeaFm allowed us to put together a dynamic and integrated advertising campaign to promote the event." "The events success is a real credit to the way the way the message got out that Guy was coming to town." This event was Sebastian's last major event before heading back to the US and he loved the experience of playing at Tahune and has indicated he’s keen to return for more. |
